BACCSOD donates to Catholic Diocese of Sunyani

A financial Institution under the management of the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani known as the Brong-Ahafo Catholic Cooperative for Social and Religious Advancement (BACCSOD) on Tuesday, 13th October, 2020 presented an amount of GH30,000.00 to the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani. The presentation is intended to help alleviate the impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the activities of the Diocesan Secretariat.

The presentation was made on behalf of the institution by the Board Chairman of BACCSOD, Lawyer Eric Ansah Ankomah and Rev. Fr. Raphael Amoako Tawiah, the Diocesan General Manager. In a brief remark, the Board Chairman, Lawyer Ansah indicated that the institution knowing very well the stress the Diocesan Secretariat has encountered owing to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the institution needed to come in and support the Secretariat. In that vain, all BACCSOD Societies throughout the Diocese donated some amount to that effect thereby yielding that much.

In receiving the donation on behalf of the Diocese, the Bishop of Sunyani Diocese, Most Rev. Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi was very appreciative of the intervention from BACCSOD. He expressed his sincere appreciation and prayed for the constant growth of the institution in the Diocese so as to continue to support the activities of the church.

BACCSOD is a Ghanaian Micro-Finance Institution under the patronage of the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani, Ghana. The enterprise was founded in 1974 by, Most Rev. James Kwadwo Owusu, the then Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani, with the aim of addressing the poverty and developmental needs of the people in and around of Sunyani. Today, BACCSOD Ltd. has over 16 branches in the Bono and Ahafo Regions known as “societies”. Various products include Normal Savings, Ketewa Biara Nsua Savings, Special Deposit, Fixed Deposit, Commercial loans, Funeral Loans, Micro Credit Loans, Overdraft, Mobile Banking, Salary payment and cheque clearing services, Local Money Transfer, Canopy and plastic chairs services as well as Sale of Shares.
