Priesthood Ordination- Catholic Archdiocese of Cape Coast

The Metropolitan Archbishop of Cape Coast, Most Rev Charles Gabriel Palmer Buckle will on September 12, 2020 ordain 13 young men to the ministerial Priesthood.

They were ordained to the Deaconate on January 11, 2020. The profile of the 13 deacons to be admitted to the order of priesthood are;

1.Rev. Alex Abakah (Parish : St. Anthony Catholic Church – Biriwa, Place of first mass: St. Anthony Catholic Church – Biriwa)
2.Rev. Raymond Bright Acquah (Parish:St. Edward Catholic Church – Jukwa)
3.Rev. Joseph Afful (Parish: St. Michael’s Catholic Church – Ajumako Bisease Place of first mass:St Michael’s Catholic Church, Ajumako Bisease )
4.Rev. Dominic Andoh ( Parish:St. Clare Catholic Church – Mankessim)
5.Rev. Gideon Awuah (Parish: Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church – Assini Anyinabrim, Place of first mass: Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church )
6.Rev. Eric Bosomtwe (Parish: St. John the Baptist Catholic Church – Pedu)
7.Rev. Emmanuel S. Connor ( Parish: Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Breman Essiam)
8.Rev. William Donkor (Parish: St. Matthew Catholic Church – Assin Dominase, Plae of first mass: St Matthew’s Catholic Church, Assin Dominase)
9.Rev. Ebenezer Asamoah Enning (Parish:St. John the Baptist Catholic Church – Assin Bereku, Place or first mass: St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Assin Bireku )
10.Rev. Daniel Opokye Quainoo Parish: St. Stephen’s Catholic Church – Dunkwa-on-Offin)
11.Rev. Leslie Tano Donkor (Parish: St. Stephen’s Catholic Church – Dunkwa-on-Offin)
12.Rev. Stephen Zortor (Parish: St. Peter’s Catholic Church – Jameso Nkwanta, Place of first mass: Jameso-Nkwanta)
13.Rev. Charles Kwofie (Parish: St. Joseph Minor Basilica – Elmina, Place of first mass:St. Joseph Minor Basilica )

The rite of ordination will be conferred on these young men taken into consideration the requirements of Can. 1031 §1 which stipulates that the priesthood may be conferred only upon those who have completed their twenty-fifth year of age, and possess a sufficient maturity; moreover, an interval of at least six months between the diaconate and the priesthood must have been observed.

The ordination ceremony is expected to take place at the St. Teresa’s Minor Seminary, Amisano in the Cape Coast Archdiocese. Catholic faithful are encourage to offer prayers for these 13 young men as they prepare to commence their Priestly Ministry.
