Sod-Cutting: Immaculate Conception Catholic Church,Asankrangwa set to get new church building

On Thursday, October 21,2021, the parishioners of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church led by their Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Anthony Gyan, cut sod for the construction of a new catholic church at Asankrangwa New Town.

The completion of this new church at Asankrangwa will make the municipality have three Catholic churches at Asankrangwa to meet the indwellers far and near settlement and ever growing spiritual and pastoral needs.

For historical precision, the new site for the construction of the church building was procured by the Christ’s faithful of at the time period Fr. Thomas Gyetuah Boafo (now the parish priest of Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Fijai) was the parish priest of Asankrangwa Catholic Church with which the entire congregation assisted through an organized harvest at the parish for the purpose of purchasing the land and working on the land according to Mr. Da Costa (a member of the project committee).

Maame Winifred, a member of St. Stephen Community, expressed in speech the insurmountable hearty contributions of Mr. Appiah, Mr Boah, Teacher Pius and Maame Atta to the community and petitioned that the church continually pray for their souls as they rest in eternity with the Truine God.

The parish priest in his address and exhortation advocated for the “we-spirit” in building as a community and extended the felicitation of our new bishop, Most Rev. John Baptist Attakruh, to the parishioners of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for their acts of good will.

The desire to report will be the expression of thanks to the anonymous person overseas assisting the local church to put up a building for the adoration of God and the sanctification of humanity.
